Mali Losinj (Island of Losinj)

Mali Losinj is the biggest place on the island of Losinj, a Central Adriatic island. Situated in the Augusta bay, rich in fish, Losinj is the best-known sport and fishing centre of the Adriatic. Dense coniferous woods make it an attractive holiday resort, while a mild climate is suitable for a century-old health tourism. A special curiosity of Mali Losinj are dolphins which inhabit its sea and contribute to an unforgettable atmosphere.

In the past, Losinj was reserved for the aristocracy only who recognized it as a fashionable holiday resort, so that boarding houses and luxurious villas were built along the coast. Losinj is the home of many rare song-birds, beast of prey and seagulls, and its coniferous woods are inhabited by feathered game.

Nerezine (Island of Mali Losinj)

Welcome to Nerezine, a town and port on the northeastern coast of the island of Losinj, connected to the mainland via the island of Krk. Nerezine is located at the foot of Osrscice mountain and has just under 400 inhabitants. It was first mentioned in the 15th century. Although its inhabitants used to live off of the growing of fruit and vegetables and fishing, thanks to excellent home-grown food, beautiful landscapes and favorable position of its harbor that is suitable for smaller boats, tourism is becoming more and more important. There are many examples of picturesque architecture dating back to times when many inhabitants of the town were seamen who built magnificent homes for their families. We recommend you take a walk through town after spending a nice day on the beach.

Veli Losinj (Island of Losinj)

Veli Losinj is a place at the narrow bay on the southeast side of the island of Losinj belonging to the Cres-Losinj Archipelago. This town of famous seamen is situated under the mount of Sveti Ivan. It is known by its high houses and luxurious villas of rich sea captains and mighty ship owners embellished by flowery gardens. Its dense vegetation consists of more than 80 various kinds of plants so that the town resembles a big harmonious pleasure garden.
