Croatia Fuzine Travel Tourism Guide - The name Fuzine first appeared in the seventeenth century as a name for the Trinski-Frankopan lands and the name may mean furnace, as there are records of iron being melted here. The first signs of tourist activity date back to the eighteenth century after the construction of the Carolina road. The largest sacral structure in Gorski Kotar is here in Fuzine, the St Antun Padovanski church, which dates from 1808.

Fuzine is a small town that is 730 meters above sea level and it is in the southwest of the Gorski Kotar region. Mountains, forests and lakes surround the town. It is a very picturesque village that has become well developed because of its location on the transit lines. The town has become both a summer and winter resort, thus a popular destination for weekend excursions, Fuzine has something for everyone

Fuzine is beside the lake Bajer and it is only 30 kilometers from the Adriatic coast. The town is in the continental climate belt and there is snow in the winter. Most of the forests consist of beech and fir trees. There are walking and cycling trails from Fuzine that lead to the Lapenica Lake and the Vrelo Cave. The lakes around Fuzine offer plenty of activities such as boating, canoeing, surfing and fishing. The Vrelo cave was discovered in 1950 and it is three and half million years old. It contains lots of stalactites, stalagmites and an underground lake. It is suitable for everyone to visit, as there are no steps inside. In the nearby town of Lic there is an ethnographic collection.
