Croatia Veliki Tabor - Desinic Travel Tourism Guide - Veliki Tabor is a fortified castle on a hill near Desinica within the Hrvatsko Zagorje region. The castle is listed in the highest category of UNESCO's category. The tower has numerous towers surrounding it, the pentagonal tower was built in the twelfth century, and the semi circular towers were built in the fifteen and sixteenth century.

The castle is at 334 meters above sea level and snow surrounds it in winter. One legend says that the castle was built on top of a second century Roman fortress. Another legend suggests that the castle was built on top of an island in the Panonian Sea.
