Croatia Olib Island Travel Tourism Guide - Olib is a small island part of the the Zadar archipelago, Olib Island is located just east from Silba Island and west of Pag Island.  Olib is a fantastic destination for a stress-free and relaxing holiday. 

 

Olib is also the name of the main town on the Island, this historic town dates back to the 10th century and was inhabited by the Roman Empire, there are many archeological sites scattered around the town which can be  explored,  during the 15th century the island was inhabited by Croatian's who were fleeing the immanent Ottoman invasion


Island of Olib is best know for its wines, olive oils an cheeses, its cheese culture it shares with its better know neighbor Island of Pag.

 

Due to its location and size there are no natural sources of freshwater, most homes on the island capture rain water for drinking and washing, there are also 2 town wells available for use by the residents of the town and island.
