Croatia Krka National Park Travel Tourism Guide - Nature is what makes the Krka National Park an incredible location in Croatia. The counties of Sibnik- Kinn see the beauty of the park as a part of its territory that is spread out along the Krka River. The park has waterfalls that cascade down through the park in seven locations.

Visovac is surrounded by Krka National Park. The Roman Catholic Visovac Monastery which was founded on 1445 by the Franciscans is located here and also Serb Orthodox Monastery Krka which was founded in 1345. The historical sites in the park are mapped out and can be accessed by foot travel.

Krka National Park is about thirty minutes away from Sibenik on the Dalmatian central coast line. Access to the park can be done by bus from Sibenik or by car and this takes you to the Skradinski Buk. The Skradin village has accommodations for those visiting the park. The park can also be accessed by way of Lozovac which also takes you to the Skradinski Buk. To reach Roski Slap waterfalls you can go by way of Miljevci or also Skradin.

If you are interested in the monastery Franciscan, this can be reached by taking ship from Miljevci. Because the Krka National Park starts at Sibenik and travels on to Knin, there are signs posted to direct you to the various entrances of the park. Parking is provided and a tourism booth is also open to provide valued information that can guide you through the park.
There Mediterranean climate makes this location an ideal attraction destination with the warmth and beautiful terrain. Waterfalls provide a comfort from warmer weather and can also provides shade and spraying water droplets that cool you as your tour the Krka National Park. Walking the trails can lead you to fortresses that are harbored deep inside the national park.

The history of Krka national Park dates back 1985 when the park located in Croatia was announced to the world as being an education, culture, scientific and recreational park for tourism. The park marks the seventh national park. History has provided fortresses Trosenj and Necven which stand on the north end of the park.

A long lake connects the Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap. After the long lake you see the steepest part of the Krka gorge called Grede. At the top, the Kamicak fortress which was built by the Ugrinic family around the 13th century, sits looking out over the park. The animal life that lives in the territory along with the plant life has made the Krka National Park an attraction of outstanding, virtually breathe taking beauty.

Krka National Park has been made popular as the river water has carved caverns, lakes and cascades. The walkways allow you to walk by the lower falls and can also be accessed by boats. Swimming in the lake on the lower side is warm and soothing as you listen to the cascading waterfalls.

Travertine is the floor covering in the park which prevents the water from sweeping into the ground. Many of the rivers in the Croatians do not have this type of floor covering and allows for the lost of the beautiful rivers and lakes. Two large lakes in the valley make up the Krka River which flows through the Krka National Park.

There is a ethnological museum located in the park that provides a great deal of knowledge and history that can better explain the natural way the park became a wildlife sanctuary for many different species of animals and also the plant life. You will be introduced to the watermills that were drove by the river and see the culture associated with the park and river.

Krka National Park has a fantastic array of colors and fragrances produced by the plant life along with the soothing music from the animal life. The beautiful waterfalls are inviting and draw you near in a hypnotizing stare of the beauty and amazement of such a creation only seen and found in the Krka Park.
